Call Source refers to the method in which customers discovered your company’s services. Call Sources can be designated from places such as Instagram, Facebook, Word of Mouth, etc.
Within the ServiceWorks software, Call Sources can be used as an extra layer of organization for jobs as well as be referenced when running reports and analytics.
Creating a Call Source
To create a Call Source, first click the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner to open the Configurations Tab and navigate to Job Settings -> Call Source
In the Call Source menu, you should be able to view a list of preset Call Sources within ServiceWorks. You can use the pencil and bin icons to edit or delete any of these preset sources
To create your own Call Source, click the New Call Source button
In the following popup, you can name your new Call Source. For this example, we’re going to name our new source “Google Ads“. Be sure that the Active checkbox is enabled, otherwise this source won’t be available to be assigned to jobs. Once finished, click Save to continue
Using Call Sources
Once you’ve finished creating your Call Sources, you’re ready to assign them to new and existing jobs.
Create or open an existing job, then scroll down to the Job Information section
In this section, use the Source of Call dropdown box to assign a Call Source to the job. Once selected, be sure to save your changes before moving on
From Mobile App:
From the mobile app, open a job and scroll to the Description section. (Note: This section may appear different if a description has already been placed in the text field)
In the Description screen, select the Call Source field dropdown field, and select your call source from the list. Press OK and Save when finished with your selection
Viewing Call Sources via Reports
Once created and assigned, you can generate a report based on the Call Source specified on the job ticket.
From the toolbar, click on the Reports tab and in the following menu, click on Jobs by Call Sources report
As the name states, this report will generate a list of jobs based on the Call Sources selected in the filter. (More on how this report works: Jobs By Call Source)
