Report – Sales Tax by Accrual Basis

Within ServiceWorks, you can use the Sales Tax by Accrual Basis report to generate a list of based on the invoiced date. This accounting method taxes income based on the date the invoice was created.

For example, lets say you create a $500 invoice for a customer in August, with a sales tax rate of 10%, making the grand total $550. You receive a $300 payment in August, and the remaining $250 in September.

With accrual basis, your sales tax owed is one amount, $50 for August, because you invoiced your customer in August.

Here’s how this report will function:

  • You can use the From / To Date to define a date range for your generated report
  • With the Tax dropdown, you can select between the tax rates you have setup within the system. This field is set to ‘All’ by default.
  • Use the County box to define a specific county for your search. This field is set to ‘All’ by default as well.

Once you’ve generated your report, it should bring up two tables based on your selections, County Wise Totals and Grand Totals. Each column
