Professional Assignment

This blog will cover the basics about assigning professionals to job or estimate tickets


To begin, first create a new job or estimate or open an existing one, and scroll down to the Schedule panel

Next, click the Professional button

In the following menu, you’ll be presented with several options for assigning a professional to this job:

  1. Professional – This list will display the list of professionals created within your ServiceWorks account.

    Your available professionals will be displayed in the following priority order:
    • Availability – Professionals with open availability will be displayed at the top of this list. Any unavailable users (either via scheduling or time off) will be displayed towards the bottom of this list
    • Amount of Scheduled Jobs – Professionals with the least amount of scheduled jobs will take priority
    • Assigned Zone – If the technicians assigned zone matches the zone in which the job is scheduled, they will appear towards the top of this availability list
    • Skillset – If a professional’s skill set matches the skills required to perform the job / service, they will appear towards the top of this list
    • Distance – Per priority, professionals closest to the service location will be prioritized in the listing

  2. Match Skill – Enable this check box to only display the professionals that match the skills required for Skill-Based Assignment
  3. Check Availability – Enable this checkbox to only display the names of professionals that are available to service the job
  4. Zone – Use this drop down to narrow down your selection by the zone a professional is assigned to.
  5. Select Leader – Use this toggle when selecting more than one professional for a job to designate a lead professional for the job. The lead professional will be the user who receives the job information to complete the service.
  6. Available / Match Skill Set – This portion of the professional view indicates whether or not a professional is available and or their skill set matches the current job requirements


When finished with your professional selection, click Save Schedule to store your changes.
