To begin, first create or open an existing job within your ServiceWorks account
Next, scroll down to the Calendar section of the job edit menu and click the dropdown arrow to view the module

From this section, you’ll have three different methods for assigning technicians to jobs:
Method One: Calendar View
First be sure that you’ve selected the calendar view from the options in the lower right corner

Next, use the Professional link to select your desired technician

Now that you’ve selected your technician, click an available cell within the calendar. Doing so will cause the job to be scheduled within the specific date and time selected


This will also be reflected in the Schedule section above. Expanding the length of the job on the calendar will also be reflected in the job duration.

Once satisfied with your changes, click Save to complete this process.
Method Two: Map View
In the lower right corner, click on the Map view icon

Once in the map view, you can click the expand icon to view a list of filter options much like the main schedule view. Select the technican(s) you’d like to display by clicking the checkmarks next to their name

Back on the map, click on any of the visible pinpoints. This will display the current technician assigned to the scheduled job

In the popup that appears from the pin, click the Add This Prof link to add the technician assigned to your current job ticket. Click Save when finished to confirm the technician assignment
Method Three: Staff View
In the lower right corner, click on the Staff View icon

Once opened, you can assign a technician by clicking on any timeframe on the row displaying their name. This scheduled time can also be expanded to accurately represent the desired duration of the job. A popup should appear confirming your selection. Click Save once finished

And that covers all the ways to assign technicians using the Calendar section of the edit job page. Here’s a few things to keep in mind as you use this feature:
- When assigning a technician via the Calendar view, it will be set as a “Specific Time”, making the job ineligible for optimization
- When adding multiple technicians through any of the three methods above, the first technician assigned will be designated as the Leader
- Scheduling changes made must be saved immediately after being made– navigating away from the page mid process will not trigger a warning nor save your progress
