System Update: November 13th, 2025

The following issues, patches, and updates were addressed in our latest update to ServiceWorks:

New Features

  • Refunds from POS
    Users can now conduct refunds via the POS menu. Refunds can be processed either in full or partially, and processed refunds will appear beneath the Other Charges column in the POS invoice.[more]
  • “Actual Time” Time Ranges
    You can now set designated names for specific time ranges within your ServiceWorks account by creating and assigning the names to specific time ranges. [more]

Resolved Issues

  • Job Cost Report now generates based on a job’s completion date instead of its assignment date.
  • Addressed error where items were displaying negative quantities after being received
  • Resolved issue where changing item disposition to Quality or Return to Vendor were not deducting the item from the inventory
  • Exporting inventory locations now only exports the items from the selected inventory location
  • Removed negative amounts from appearing on Item Needed page
  • Voiding serialized items on POS transactions now correctly allows the serial number to be reassigned for other jobs/services
  • Order Due amount in Customer A/R now correctly reflects write offs
  • Restored functionality to the Adjust Quantity button in the Inventory Adjustment page.

Reports

  • New Reports: Job Cost & Gross Profit Report
  • Serialized Column in Items Received by Receive Date Report
    Added a new Serial Number column to the Items Received by Receive Date report
  • Standard Technician Column in Customer Product Report
    Added a Standard Technician column to the Customer Product report.
  • Special Order Parts in Parts Order Report
    Added the ability to generate the Parts Order Report based on “Special Order” parts (meaning parts with the ROP set to 0)


We update ServiceWorks over the weekend when a patch or update will also affect the mobile app. This prevents our customers from getting an update notice on their mobile devices when starting their workday. Please look for our maintenance notification emails. Please note, the morning after a promotion to the system, you may see some temporary slowness when first logging into your account. This will clear up quickly as your system takes in the new updates.
